Facebook News Feed versus Jaiku/Twitter. Opinions? With several upgrades Facebook could take a good share of the life-streaming market.

I really think that's what it is. Plus, you can already plug you Jaiku/Twitter/Pownce feeds into Facebook. I'm more and more using it as such.

Exactly. I am surprised that Facebook hasn't made that move yet. They are slowly opening their feeds. Once News Feed is open, it could seriously harm other life-streaming services. After all, most of us already have our friends/co-workers on Facebook.

Do they really need to open up any more? I'm not convinced.

It would just be convenient. I'm used to Netvibes and it would be great to see Facebook News Feed there. But I see your point as well.

Why would you need to open anything up when people keep coming in by hundreds (millions)?

My opinion is that facebook is not a small little focused app like twit/jaiku.

Wouldn't the easiest solution not be that Jaiku let FB-profiles get attached somehow to Jaiku-profiles? When clicking on a Jaiku-users name, you get her FB-profile, simple and easy, FB as a subfunction (application!) in Jaiku :-D

That would sure help Jaiku grow. But how does Jaiku enhance Facebook News Feed? Mobile functions?

Skeevs, of course Facevook is not a small app. However, small apps like Twitter or Jaiku are copying (in a way) what Facebook has been doing since last year with news feed.

I just wrote a blog post about lifestreaming services and possible directions for future development http://www.hyperpublic.com/?p=27.
