    Have you tried Pownce? Their AIR client is really nice and works on Linux via the AIR Alpha.

    Yeah Pownce does seem geared towards longer thoughts and file transfer - almost like Tumblr really. It is a really nice app though. Jaiku is ok in most respects but desperately needs direct messaging.
