Dvorak thinks that the speed of light as a fundamental limit, "doesn't make sense" - Einstein was wrong. Is he for real?

The speed of light issue is debatable, especially for particles with 0 initial mass. There is also some incomplete evidence that while light particles themselves tend to slow down towards the edges of the universe. It is also apparent that gravitons (quantized attraction energy/work ) don't, even though the most popular model of gravity tells of photon exchange. Now if we go to hyperstring theory light is the wavelike tranmission of oscilation among the blank space primitives, so the speed limitation is quite artificial, or so I understand. That said we are discussing of Dvorak and propably driving clicks to his outlets, so he may be right after all.

Einstein isn't the end of the line for physics, he is just more right about describing the nature of the universe than those who have come before him. Who's to say that someone in the next 50 years doesn't make a breakthrough that explains things better than Einstein or provides an end-around that makes FTL travel possible?

Thanks KCorax for the input, I need to research the subject a bit more myself before I would attempt to comment on the validity of special relativity.

jonassink, Einstein of course isn't the end of the line for physics; he changed things, just like many before him and doubtless many after.

Incidentally, the report they were discussing on TWiT about the speed of light being broken was discredited in the scientific press.

I'm not being dogmatic that it's not possible to break the speed of light, it was just annoying to hear Dvorak dismiss the limit as "not making sense". None of quantum physics "makes sense", it's an area that's extremely counter intuitive.
