Working on a DVD of essential apps for the mac (for friends + their first mac). Calling it "iSsentials" Anyone have some suggestions?

    I'm guessing you're going for the free variety, so Software for Starving Students at http://softwarefor.org/ is a good place to start. After that Digg has a list come up ever so often usually all the same. My favorites are Quicksilver, Cyberduck, Monolingual, and VLC.

    Great idea! as a video person I will be intrgued to see your presentation! Either way, it's a great concept! I like thhe title... the big "S" stands out a little strange, though. Maybe try something like making all of the letters caps instead of the "i."

    You can't forget about the Mega Man Effect. :) And if you're using a MacBook/Pro, then of course MacSaber and SmackBook.

    well megaman and saber and smackbook are all really cool, and perhaps i'd include them in a "fun" folder, but not really the sort of "essentials" i was looking for.
