Debian 4.0 is my favorite server distro but something like Fedora or CentOS (both Red Hat based) are good options. Debian isn't the most user friendly distro if you're new to Unix terminal admin but it's powerful as hell

    Not Linux. OpenBSD.

Debian. It's long been reguarded as one of the best server distros ever, and I personally love it.

isn't nearly any distro doing it for those requirements? If you want Debian but user friendly you might wanna use Ubuntu Server eventually.

A good place to start is DistroWatch @ http://distrowatch.com/ That'll help you get an understanding of what differences, if any, exists between various distros.

Don't go with RedHat. RPM is insanely hard to keep up and maintain. Go with a Debian based system like Ubuntu Server. Slackware will also do it, as well as Vector. Gentoo will need a day to build it all properly, depending on your setup.
