Listening to leo on natn complaining about how few 1% of the US developer workforce know of twit+natn. Well duh !

It doesn't help at all when you poopoo on almost every major enterprise oriented company at any given chance and explain that you won't be covering them because you find them boring. For people who view the world relying on the twit network:

IBM: They don't exist, yet they are the freaking ones that donated Apache to the OSS community. That's what ruby on rails and python and php run on, most of the time.

Microsoft: They are apparently guilty of everything, even the hole in the ozone layer. The only time they get a break is in the WW, where leo is complacent. Then again apple seems to take up a good portion of the podcast.

Sun: They also don't exist. Nevermind they run Boeing aircrafts with real time java.

Apple: Apparently there are way more OSX users out there than any other OS. They find plenty of things to talk in MBW, even omigosh developer stories and the shiny new fs_events subsystem on Leopard, or Core Animation. They also seem to get a break for having people pay for what every other vendor ships as patches or developer frameworks.

Linux community: Their only purpose of existance is to provide you with obscure ways to overcome DRM. They also fuel you with perl and 'stuff' that you can see in emacs, using your wonderful EGA display.

Just a few hints on my side. The world I see through twit's eyes doesn't resemble the world I see around me very much.

Then again the joy of podcasting is that you can skip stuff freely.

You go girl :) Yeah, it would be nice to see podcasts that have the humor of macbreak/TWIT but the substance of SecurityNow focused on even one of the languages. I can appreciate that it's no small order to dream up each week what to talk about, much less have any of that be funny. Also, even the notion of what language is best for what is more and more unclear. Should it be, ASP/ASP.net, php, ruby, ruby on rails, AJAX, Flash, Flex, maya, C, C++. C#, Java, js, PERL,,,,,SOAP,,,,,,and Steves fav...ASM....much less cobol and the new object oriented cobol and PERL What's the latest in IDE's....? And I guess FLOSS was gonna try to be that for LINUX? But the podcasts that have legs are based on "user experience" with the panelists giving a hint to..."the rest of the story" So the target audience is geeks and newbs with developers on the fringe. Corax, I bet Leo would let you do a "Developer Weekly".... Any takers?
Heck, I'd like to hear the ocassional SteveGibsons asm cast...(Kinda like when Norm Abram steps aside from ThisOldHouse to do his NewYankeeWorkshop....)

I'm not a techie, but I must admit I am getting bored with all the talk of the gaming platforms, HDTVs and cell phones. I want to hear more of what's going on in the computer world.
