Looking for open source disk imaging programs, Any comments, pointers in the right direction, will greatly appreciated..... Thanks.

    you can try http://ubcd.sourceforge.net/ or http://www.ubcd4win.com/ which is just not for disk imaging but has a lot of other very useful tools.

    I'd suggest part image. It comes on the system rescue cd (google that). I did have a problem that was fixed by shrinking the partition a hair before I imaged it (using gparted, which comes on that cd)

    Depends on what your imaging. If you're doing a Linux PC, all you need is a stock Gentoo LiveCD and some mount/tar magic. Windows/Mac? Use the above.
