It means that when Jaiku becomes Jaiku Beta you will have more invites than the rest to send to your friends.

The comfort of knowing that you can spot a good thing when you see it? [and vice versa?]

The knowledge that you are one of the 'cool kids' with invites now? And all those twitter heads were wrong all along?

So long as Google leaves it be, things should be fine.

@dnecromancerr75: That's my thoughts. The only things I'd like them to change is speed up feed reading and add a US SMS number. Other than that, I hope they don't mess with it.

This'll go one of two ways. Jaiku will pretty much remain as-is, except for a US SMS number (like FyreFiend said), it'll move to Google's server farm, and after a year or so, Google will finally offer users a way to integrate their Jaiku account with their Google accounts, alá YouTube.

Given how publicized this is, Google will just rebrand this, change its layout, and allow people to merge their accounts immediately, though some data will be lost, and if its lost, Google will allow people to go back into the old Jaiku server data to pull information over, like they did with Google Documents. Later on, Google will add in a bit more information.

I really hope Google doesn't re-brand it or change the layout. I like both quite a bit, and both quite a bit better than either Twitter or Pownce.

I just looked over the announcement email from Jaiku. Closing new user sign up for now? Hmmm. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
