Sage allowed me to have a sidebar open that I periodically refreshed to see if there was anything new on the sites I read. Nothing fancy. I didn't have to go to another site to see what was updated and the entire feed would be marked as read all at once as opposed to each item.
Now it just doesn't seem to want to pull the newest rss files for a number of sites including slashdot and digg which is a little odd....
but now that I've tried wizzrss and Google reader with the Slashdot rss feed, I'm starting to think that maybe the problem is with feedburner. None of the readers are seeing the most recent stories at all...
I tried Slashdot's RSS feed, and it was insanely slow to update, even through Google Reader. It's not you, it's Slashdot. I dropped that feed and just periodically check it every few hours.

I've tried Google Reader. I don't like the interface hence the reason I've been using Sage on multiple computers for quite a while now.

google reader has been slowly improving, it might be different from what you knew. also, it now has offline goodness thanks to google gears.

Isn't that what the live bookmarks do? Or does (did) Sage give you extra features?

well, if you're on the market for rss readers, you should buy a mac to try out those 2 :)
