I have a iMac and Two PC Laptops. Airport Router or Linksys Router? Which is a better choice?

    I say Linksys Router.

I love my Linksys. Works fine with both PCs and Macs

Gotta go with the Linksys. 2/3 of your pain will be on the windows side if you went with the Airport.

I thoroughly recommend the Airport Extreme. I've had far less problems with both my macs and PC's since changing over (from a Netgear), the Airport Disk works well, plus you get the added advantage of simple WDS using an Airport Express to extend your network.

I can't really speak of The Airports (I've never used one) but ANYTHING is better than Netgear routers.

I'm not going to argue about Netgear routers (one reason I changed), but in relation to the original question I was reporting my good experience with the Airport. And re EdMaurer's comment, there's been absolutely no pain on either the Windows or Mac side.

If your iMac is your main machine, go with the AP because the software tool is much better for the AP. Not impressed with the Linksys but it gets the jobs done.

I would go Linksys, just cause it's like half the price and it gives you a lot of options for customization (if you're into that ;))

I myself use mostly wired routers and use the Fonera (from the Fon initiative www.fon.com) to hook up my wireless clients. Doesn't give you a giant open network but for 40$ you get one of the best wireless access points I've ever seen.
