I'd guess the reason for possible decrease in land prices would be due to the recently added new continent rather than gambling. I might be wrong, though :)
certainly all of the new land has created a downward trend, however looking closely at the land for sale history seems to be showing some low priced outliers.

Could you tell more please? I am alien to Second Life but interested about it. Although, speed of their servers are horrible...

I guess they will face further land price deterioration with OpenSim/OpenGrid coming already ;)
