Years ago I was on a multi-month federal jury. While interesting, it was a bit of a pain. This year I was called, but just had to check in every day and did not have to go to the court house before my time was up.

the county courthouse here requires that you be present for one full day, and if you don't get called into an actual trial, you're done.

last time i had jury duty was in 2005 i think. it was a 5 day trial, and while interesting and exciting, it was rather stressful for me too. i just hate being in a courtroom. but i'm willing to do my civic duty if called....

MotivatedTurnip: wow. multi-month federal jury? hope you got paid by your employer. i'm self-employed so if i do jury duty i don't get paid and might lose work.

Yikes. That would suck to loose work.

My employer at the time was great and paid for several weeks of it. I did still have to take just under a weeks worth of vacation for the rest. I'm with you on the duty call (our country asks every little of us, really), but sometimes they make it seem unnecessarily onerous.
