Now when I went to the store, they told me that that's not true and that what matters is hscsd. But because Egypt is pretty far behind in terms of the latest phones - I'm wondering if maybe they're wrong?
If your network supports hsdpa then go for that, as kob mentioned most new nokias support it, i use a nokia 6120c. The pairing process to use you phone as a hsdpa or regular 3g modem is simple enough.

as far as i understand hsdpa/hscsd ..hsdpa allows for fast download speeds (1.8, 3.6 Mbps..divide by 8 to get the KB pers sec) and hscsd lets you upload content off of your phone at fast speeds but i do not know if that automatically means that download is as fast as hsdpa... so it really depends what you wanna do...anyway... do not go for windows mobile phones since tethering the n800 to them will give you an immense amount of frustration..mmmmm...it's always exciting buying a new phone :)
@Dandandan: well i dont want to go so far as to get an n95/82/73 cause the tablet already does everything I need.. i just want a decent 3g phone to use along with the n800. i was originally going to buy the samsung u700 until i read some reviews.
@atmozphere: thanks for the clarification and for the advice.. yeah i always get giddy when i'm buying new gadgets.. phones included. =)

Almost all the new Nokias are good. It seems a lot of people are using the N95.

I use the n73, I was using the 6682 on AT&T but found once I upgraded, I was using the tablet less, since this phone kicks ass!
