Help! My Sprint based phone number refuses to activate! Text messaging works perfectly but the code doesn't arrive!

    Did you get an answer? If I understand your problem, I think you are unable to set up SMS notifications from jaiku. I believe the reason it does not work is that jaiku is not yet set up to send SMS to the United States. I was not able to get it to work either.

    There's a known issue getting SMS messages from our SMS provider into many mobile carriers in the US.

    It seems that many (perhaps most) US carriers dislike international SMS.

    The team is working on putting a US based contact in place, but we're arranging for that to be a 'shortcode', and doing that means you have to jump through a series of hoops with the service providers, so it's a rather slow process.

    We'll be shouting that one from the rooftops when it's in place - and I'm about 99.9% sure that will fix your problems.

    Manual activations are an attempt at a partial solution - that was never particularly satisfactory, and have been mostly discontinued (ie, we stopped encouraging people to get that done).
