I had about 20 or so contacts - not that many really. Also, the channel I created, #schadenfreude, is missing from my contacts list. The icon doesn't show for me and I do not receive updates from it... even though it still says I'm a member and I manage it!
Some of my contacts were showing as contacts no longer, so I readded them - but others I removed and readded. I'm still missing 15 or so.
i'm afraid we had a bug related to a spammer removed, the contacts of people "brooke hudson" had added were removed, we thought they were mostly channels or other fake accounts but I am sad to find out it affected real users as well :(
It shouldn't happen again but no good way to add your contacts again besides going to their pages and clicking :( sorry
If he goes to their page and it says they're still contacts, then they must be in some table somewhere. They're just not in the table that puts them in his icon list .. or they're not in his subscriptions or something. Surely they can be retrieved from wherever they still exist?
rickmeasham: contacts are one way, they still have him listed as contacts but he doesn't have them, for channels it is fine because everybody who adds them gets added back but people don't work the same way
I read "Yet, it still says that they're a contact when I visit their page." as meaning when he goes to their page, it says "Foo is your friend. Remove Foo"
"but others I removed and readded" seems to confirm that it says this. Otherwise there's no way to remove them ..
Hrm... okie, yeah I had added Brooke Hudson as a contact when that spammer had added me... however, I've lost the ability to get feeds from my own channel (#schadenfreude) even though it still says I own the channel when I go to its page and it still says those people are my contact even though they do not show up in my sidebar and I do not receive their feeds. There's nothing you can do to help me get those back working correctly?
okay, two things, i cleared the cache for you, so you should be able to add those people back, additionally i can add all the people who currently have you listed as a contact (numbers make sense with how many people you said you had before including a couple group) to your contact list to speed things up
Hmmm... something interesting has happened now. My contacts are back (and there's one missing that I just became aware of, but I can re-add them)... but now when I visit their page it says I can add them as a contact, even though I already have them. If I click it, I get the page that says Jaiku is under heavy load. Just reporting :)
twiddling the cache, website will slow down for a minute or so while it refills the top queries... should be fixed after this, need to talk to juha about how to clear the appropriate entries for a sitaution like this
