I think I'm done with Jaiku. It's getting too hard to keep up with a service that is stagnant and not being cared about.

So sad. Brightkite is going to be my service of choice.

In a way it's kind of sad, but its not over yet! An in fact, this might be a great thing. Unlike Dodgeball.com, the service is not being discontinued, and the code is being released as a GAE open source project! This means there's tons of potential for Jaiku. The closest competitor in this regard would be Identi.ca. Thus, the future of Jaiku will depend on the open source community. As it stands, I am considering helping in this effort.

thanks for the update and comment Jyri! releasing the app would be killer. The code would be amazing ... I could see a lot of interest there

Jaiku as identi.ca doesn't sound half bad.

@spongefile Yeah. Hopefully we'll be able to link all users signed up to our own Jaiku over to this main Jaiku.

I don't see a problem and why because of this news people have to quit using jaiku :/. It's still working right? It's still the same service right? So why quit? I am here to stay and so is Jaiku.
