It'd be great to just checkbox the contacts I want to recieve SMS notifications from. I don't care if XXX is having trouble cracking open his coconut right this second – it can wait until I log on in an hour or whenever, but I DO want to know if YYY or ZZZ are making great progress with their coconuts because they're making a coconut cake for me. Just an everyday example that I'm sure everyone can relate to.
I've been complaining about this a while ago (and I wasn't the only one).
I stopped using the feature after one week of geeky addiction to Jaiku SMS notifications.
This feature loses the point even earlier unless you have small number of friends or messages from them (or both) and that is certainly not the goal behind Jaiku, right?

At least you get SMS notifications :( But yes, contact-specific otherwise we'd be inundated in them :O
