A lot of twitter users do this with their Jaikus. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong but make sure that it's your personal feed, not your contacts' feeds. You could be doing nothing wrong, sometimes Jaiku can't read feeds at a certain time (server load or whatever).
I have my twitter feeds coming in just fine .. Add Another Feed ... select the RSS link at the bottom of the twitter page that you are interested in .. and it should work .. but I can't get the jaiku flash badge to have live links on my blog,,, drats
