Thankfully Jaiku has a Political-Spam-Filter-Protocol running that filters such messages!

@Rick. Thanks for the reply. That's a real disappointment, isn't it? Are there any other ways to access Jaiku via a mobile in USA?

As I said in the other thread, http://m.jaiku.com/ is the go

Also, depending on what phone/mobile device you have, there are several mobile application options to access Jaiku. They rely on a data plan, however, rather than your SMS plan.

I believe the Jaiku website has a list of some of them in the 'mobile options' page, but it's been a while since I looked at that.

Personally, I use Mauku on my Nokia N800, falling back to Jaikuberry on my Blackberry when I don't have WiFi access for the N880. If you have a Symbian S60-based phone, then there is an 'offical' client from the Jaiku folks, themselves.

...on a Sprint Treo with unlimited data plan...I'll have a look

The Treo is a Windows Mobile-based device, correct? A quick Google search didn't turn up anything in the way of a full-blown Jaiku client for the Windows Mobile platform for me. So you've two options:

    1) Use the web browser to access http://m.jaiku.com/, as Rick previously mentioned. 2) If you have a (Jabber-based) Instant Messaging account, you can use an IM client on your Treo to send and receive Jaikus.

Actually, Treo comes in MS and Palm OS flavors. I've got the Palm variety.

The web page is a good idea, but can be cumbersome. I do have IM setup via Verichart, perhaps that is a more elegant solution to try.

I don't see a Palm OS oriented Jaiku client, either. The IM solution will be much easier to submit quick messages than going through the web interface. http://jaiku.com/help/im has more info on using Jaiku's IM solution.
