The thing I found most interesting at Lecture 19.09.07 was Alan Kays comment that "The best way to perdict the future was to invent it".

The most interesting thing i learned in the lecture on 19.09.07 was that a man named Tim Berners Lee was the inventor of the world wide web.....plus there were numerous versions of the modern day computer that date back as far as the 1940's......

    I second that!

One of the most interesting things I took from the lecture of 19.09.07 was our discussion on what our most indispensable technology is vs.. the most indispensable technology in the times of our Grandparents. Learning that we use ‘Boolean Operators’ everyday, without conscious knowledge of what they are, really struck me, as it just shows how ignorant we are to the amount of technology we use everyday, and how little we question it. Also the fact the inventor of the world wide web is only 52, and writes a blog, will stick out for me from that lecture!

The most interesting thing I learned from that lecture is that the internet was invented years before I thought it was and that in the 1940's and 50s people like Vannevar Bush and J.C.R Licklider had the pioneering ideas to build computers to allow more easier communication but just didn't have the technology at their time. They really were visionary's before their time

The thing i found most interesting or maybe hard to believe was just the huge difference between what people called "Technology" way back when and what it is today. I just found it strange that all those little "ornaments" such as the Hahn Calculator or the TIM Calculator were actually the new technology of the day.

The most interesting thing I heard at that lecture was again Alan Kay's quote on shaping the future, which is exactly what he and the great minds of the previous century did for us.Without their input into the evolution of technology we wouldn't have any of the amazing gadgets we use everyday.

the responces people gave for their most valuable piece of technology was the most interesting thing for me from this lecture

Hi, the best part about this lecture was i think Alan Kay's quote on shaping the future.. I also found the part about how older computers were just counting machines and nobody had thought about the huge infulunce they would have in the future..

the most interestig thing was thinking about the differences technology has made to my life when compared with that of my grandparents generation

the most interesting part of this lecture was learning about the origins of hypertext and the world wide web. the web has become an integral part of our modern society and learning about it via the internet itself was an interesting experience.

The most interesting things I learned in todays lecture was the origin of some of the most widely used technologies computer related such as hypertext and the Internet and we also saw these in heir most primative stages. We saw the first ever video confernce by Doug Engelbart and I also thought the shift and transition from the perception of computers and what their function was at that time was very interestng.

The most interesting thing i learnt was about Doug Engelbart's contributions towards the technology invented in his time and the examples shown to us.

i found it very interesting that technolagy was invented so long ago. I always assumed that it was much more recent. It amazed me that people could be so clever so long ago!!!

It had to be the history of the web, Doug Engelbart etc, and also the fundemantals behind computers.

I found it interesting that George Boole used his knowledge as a mathematician to invent "Boolean" algebra, the basis of all modern computer arithmetic. Also Vannevar Bush known for his political role in the development of the atomic bomb.

I found it interesting that John von Neuwmann was one of the pioneers of the modern digital computer as well as the application of operator theory to quantum mechanics.
I also found it interesting that Charles Babbage originated the idea of a programmable computer.

The thing i found most interesting from the lecture that such huge advances were made in computng technology in such a short period of time, we went from basic calculating devices to the cmputers we have today in less than 150 years, which is really incredible!
