Don't know, but it does sound interesting, since it promisses to be able to provide location data in a new and open way. What I'd do would be to display the user-location in a block or similar. In terms of integration I'd like to be able to update the user-location and/or the node-location when posting a new node.
Well, I'd love to develop your idea, location data is so hyped and really simple to do in Drupal, I'm fed up with the hype. I'm experimenting with the Services module to dynamically update the location-data, unfortunately it seems like I have to do some coding, because the User service can't update the profile - the coding should be straight forward though - hopefully I have something working on wednesday after NS Coder Night Copenhagen.

And, for added complexity, Views integration with the Flickr Places API to get all nodes within a certain place.
