Check your addressbook. If you have her number there more than once, the phone doesn't show the name. This what I first do with my N95, if the same happens with me.
@TheBlueNile - bingo - she was in as one of my "in case of emergency" (ICE) numbers that I completely forgot I had in there. Thanks v much for the speedy response.
I suppose it's get used to the annoyance or ditch the safety measure then... hmmmm......

My phone doesn't show the callers name any more
This will be because your ICE contact number is a duplicate entry of another contact in your phone book. If you have two numbers the same, your phone won't know which one to display so it will show just the number. To get round this, simply type a * after the number under your ICE contact. It will still work and will cure the caller-ID problem. "
This solution means that people can easily find ICE number from your phone contacts but your phone can't be actually used for calling to it(without editing the ICE entry). Anyway this is the recommended solution on ICE web site.

Why isn't this fixed? Bloody annoying, happens to me all the time. But helps you to learn people's numbers though.

Why don't you just add the ICE after the name. The addressbook will find all ICE numbers if the search is done by "ICE"..
