Well, I hate the iPhone (fuss) too and love Nokia, but I love Maemo and a phone like that should have Maemo on it instead of Symbian. Maemo is much more robust, feature rich and it's based on 'the kernel'.
Thinking the same about Maemo. N97 hardware is obviously influenced by N810 (nav button looks the same!). I could probably get by with Symbian, but when they say "multimedia computer" I think MPlayer, Canola...I think Maemo.
In fact, I've been looking (not an extensive search, but a search) about the processor of the N97 and Its'n anywhere. I would like to know If I can use Maemo or Ubuntu Mobile on it because would be a plus (and a reason to spend the money it cost).

Did I say that "can't we all just get along?"?

I don't mind people who use iPhone. I just don't understand the fuss. If iPhone rocks your boat, who am I to judge. I just wouldn't personally use it.

@myrtti exactly, which is why I hate all fanboy tools.
"Whatever floats your boat." - as we say in English.

@camahueto In general, I'm perfectly happy with Symbian but, for the N-Series phones, you might have a point

Well, in fact it seems that all about symbian says is an ARM11 processor, so not enough for Maemo or Ubuntu Mobile in a decent way.
