loving this session - i've always been about geo-tagging the media I create.. But what geo-casting? Choosing the granular location awareness that you share with your friends.
@virbana: same trend is quite noticable in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress...it is still quite a male dominated industy. Us women who get excited about new technology and gadgets are still a minority, which is slowly changing though
@hannamanna Is it really about the amount of interest, or could it be the quality of interest? I'm very excited about new things, but know nothing about the technology. Is it needed to understand the technology behind in order to get involved in the conversation?
Next up CT Moore - aka GypsyBandito - on Social Media and Business.. Met this guy on Wednesday and have been hanging out. Been looking forward to this.:)
@virbana: all feedback is valuable for future development our concepts! The issue you mentioned is acknowledged and we need to do something to address that.
@virbana. that's a good question. Your knowledge about the technology shouldn't stop you exploring the options but it can be dawnting if people use the industry lingo, techy acronyms etc to get into the conversation or spend a day learning about something new. It would be easy to say that it is the quality that matters but there should be more women getting involved in technology I believe.
@matnel: that could work but there are some of us who don't want to be associated with women-only techy events as we think there shouldn't be a gender divide anyways. Others see it as an encouraging way to get girls/women involved as it could be seen as a safer environment to make questions and learn etc but personally I'm in favour of the mixed opportunities.
@jal: the links on the frontpage are pointing to user created content, e.g. Wiki. You can also do searches with nokiaopenlab08 tag. Try google, technorati, flickr, etc. That's the official event tag that people has been using.

currency of information
Tying back to 'Generation Now' - If I read a review, I want the most recent information.. How good was it last month, last week... yesterday?
Information loses its currency the older it gets.

Counted only 3 women from the pictures. The mobile future is... what, male only?
1 year, 2 months ago by virbana
@virbana - you make a valid point, but there's more than three..
1 year, 2 months ago by whatleydude
@Virbana :dont worry, there are more. Maybe the person with that camera was more into men...?

Having Social Media as a base when starting a new business is a lot easier than trying to implement it at a later date.

internal community manager.. Is that not a culture officer? Or someone in Human Resources?

Community mgr could be in HR, the point was to see the employees as a community needing information and nurturing
