As a Java developer I like this acquisition. Now Sun has Solaris+Java+MySQL against Windows+DotNet+SQLServer. But as it transfers an important player in the field of database engines from Europe to US and thus makes this field even more monopolic than before, it is not very interesting... Oh, and by the way, SAP's DB engine's ownership was already transferred to MySQL a few years ago...
