APIs hatching

We’re still putting the finishing touches on the APIs but you can already check out the developer site at devku.org.
There are a couple of cool projects already out for Mac OSX. Jaiku Growler allows you to receive alerts from Growl whenever you or any of your Jaiku contacts post a new Jaiku. There’s also a Quicksilver script that lets you post Jaikus directly from Quicksilver.

Interview with the founders

606tech published an interview with Petteri and I today. The story is one of the more informative ones on Jaiku currently out there. If you’re new to Jaiku and curious to find out more about its aims and who the people behind it are, then this is probably a good place to start.
The Leo Effect

We’ve been getting a lot more traffic since Leo Laporte announced on his blog he’d moved to Jaiku. We’ve speeded up the site today and we’ll continue working to improve response times - but it’ll take a few days to install more servers. If the traffic keeps growing, the site may respond slower than normally until we’re upgraded. We’ll keep you up to date on how the server situation develops.
