New improvements

Good things are in the pipeline, and the first set of improvements has made it to the surface already.

Vroom! It’s faster
We’ve increased performance under the hood and the site’s now generally speedier to use all around. This affects all pages, and publishing new posts is especially quicker.

URLs are now links
Embedded URLs in posts and comments are now displayed as clickable links. The way it should be everywhere on the Web.

Better notifications
Email notifications of new comments are now sent to everyone who has posted to the thread. This is a handy way to find out when the author of the original post or someone else responds to your comment.

Formatting in comments
It’s now possible to add simple HTML formatting to comments. The supported styles are as follows:

  • _emphasis_
  • **bold**
  • [link text](http://jaiku.com) -> link text

    Just a thought - cheers and keep up the good work!

    After a few days of using things, I would like to see a way to see my Jaiku page in a way that I see the latest from each feed or type: uploading e.g. a set of photos to Flickr quickly floods my page.

    Great interface! Icons are cute.
