Improved privacy and search
October 16th, 2006
New features out! There’s now a search field on the main page, making it easy to find people and connect with other Jaiku members.
We’ve also added a new “Edit sharing settings” link to the sidebar for signed in members. Click on it to edit your Rich Presence Sharing Options.
The options allow you to control privacy for your contact details, mobile presence, location, and Bluetooth environment. You can also select to hide your profile so it does not show up in searches.

Ouch, leaving calendar items open for all or contacts… hmm have to rething what I put into those “meetings” then, why not let me choose to limit to myself?
And of course, had to check when the software would not install - my E70 has version 3 of S60… so waiting patiently. (Can already see my kids will want upgraded phones for this use… :)

Sig: You can set Jaiku to display your calendar events as ‘busy’. The next version of Jaiku asks the user to define how they want to display their calendar events during the installation and setup process. This can be changed at any time by selecting Jaiku -> Settings from the Options menu.
We’re hard at work to bring you a S60 3rd edition of Jaiku. The new policy with S60 3rd edition requires application developers like Jaiku to get their software certified (”signed”) before they are able to distribute it, and we’re working our way through this process.

Jyri, excellent - “busy” is the obvious one! Looking forward to getting 3rd edition. Keep up the good work!
