Mika named Forum Nokia Champion

Mika has been named Forum Nokia Champion. There was a bubbly Nokia event last night in London. They provide the following grounds for awarding individuals with this title:

“Forum Nokia Champions earn our recognition for achieving outstanding expertise, participating in community activities, and sharing their knowledge… Forum Nokia Champions have a special energy. They willingly present their thoughts to the community and spark exciting new ideas.”

Mika’s Symbian Programming pages are a key reference for many Symbian developers.

See Jaiku at the Symbian Smartphone Show

smartphoneshow logoWe’ll be demoing Jaiku at the Symbian Smartphone Show in London October 17-18th. It promises to be a busy event this year with over 120 exhibiting companies, 60 seminars, and over 3000 attendees from the smartphone industry.

If you’d like to get in touch with us at the show, please contact Mika or Teemu.

Improved privacy and search

sharing_settings_thumb.jpgNew features out! There’s now a search field on the main page, making it easy to find people and connect with other Jaiku members.

We’ve also added a new “Edit sharing settings” link to the sidebar for signed in members. Click on it to edit your Rich Presence Sharing Options.

The options allow you to control privacy for your contact details, mobile presence, location, and Bluetooth environment. You can also select to hide your profile so it does not show up in searches.

Bug fix release

Latest Jaiku S60 client release contained a problem: it closed itself automatically after a day and didn’t restart itself. Oops. As we install and shutdown phones pretty frequently during development, this bug went unnoticed for sometime.

There is a fixed version available.
