Invitation links fixed
July 21st, 2006
We’ve now fixed two bugs that caused an error message to appear when clicking the link in the invitation email. The first problem was that the link sometimes contained two consecutive slashes, which caused problems in Internet Explorer. This has now been fixed. The other problem was that the hash in the link was generated using the sender’s password as input, and if the sender changed their password, the links in the sent invitations would break. This has also been fixed.
If you’ve experienced trouble with the links in invitations you have received, we invite you to please try them now again. Also, if you’ve sent invitations that haven’t been accepted yet, please consider sending another invitation in case this problem prevented the recipient from accepting it!
Greg Huntoon Says:
I have been on Jaiku now for the better part of a week, and it actually perfectly solves a problem that we’ve had internally in our company: how do we all send links to each other without just using email? Pownce comes close, but feels too restrictive. Tumblr, the same. Twitter again, comes close, but just not close enough. We needed something that had the ability to be more private and sectioned off. So, thank you.
Now, my only question is: how long do I have to wait until I can invite a few people from the company to join me and test this badboy out fully?
